Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Raindar is operated by Rain Adapt LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a New York limited liability company. Raindar is a free platform health monitoring service for Meta advertisers, accessible at raindar.live.

Questions about this policy: privacy@raindar.live

2. What Raindar Does

Raindar helps Meta advertisers answer: "Is it my account, or is Meta having a platform issue?" Advertisers connect their Meta Ads accounts via OAuth so we can pull anonymized, aggregated performance metrics (CPM, CTR, delivery rate, frequency) and compute cohort-level baselines. When metrics deviate significantly from baseline across multiple unrelated advertisers, Raindar surfaces the anomaly on a public dashboard and alerts opted-in users.

Raindar does not modify campaigns, access creative assets, or expose identifiable advertiser data to any other party.

3. Data We Collect

3a. Account information

When you create a Raindar account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (optional)
  • Business name (optional)
  • Alert preferences (Slack webhook URL or email)

3b. Meta Ads data (via OAuth)

When you connect your Meta Ads account, we access the following via the Meta Marketing API using the ads_read and read_insights permissions:

FieldPurpose
Account IDHashed immediately on ingest — never stored in raw form
SpendWeighted cohort averaging
ImpressionsCPM derivation
ClicksCTR derivation
CPMPrimary anomaly signal
CTRSecondary anomaly signal
FrequencyDelivery health signal
Delivery statusActive / Limited / Not Delivering
Campaign objectiveCohort dimension (e.g., Conversions, Traffic)
CountryCohort dimension

We do not access: creative assets, audience definitions, pixel data, billing information, or any write-access scopes. Raindar is strictly read-only.

3c. Advertiser-declared information

At sign-up we ask you to select your industry vertical (e.g., Apparel, B2B SaaS, Lead Gen). This is used solely as a cohort dimension.

3d. Usage and technical data

Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, timestamps. Used for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • Anomaly detection: Hourly polling of your Meta metrics to compute cohort-level baselines and detect platform-wide anomalies.
  • Account-specific alerts: Comparing your account metrics against your cohort baseline to determine whether an issue is platform-wide or isolated to your account.
  • Public dashboard: Cohort-level aggregate data only (median CPM delta, CTR delta, number of advertisers). No individual advertiser data is ever shown publicly.
  • Service communications: Account confirmations, alerts you opt into, and material policy updates.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating Raindar as described above.

5. Anonymization and Cohort Protection

Your account ID is hashed immediately upon ingest using a one-way hash and never stored in raw form. All cross-account computations use hashed identifiers only.

No cohort signal is published unless the cohort contains at least 10 unrelated advertisers in the relevant time window. Below that threshold the cohort is suppressed entirely. This two-layer approach — hashing plus minimum cohort size — protects against reverse-identification of individual advertisers from public data.

6. Data Retention

Data typeRetention period
Raw Meta metrics (hourly rows)90 days, then permanently deleted
Cohort aggregatesRetained indefinitely (contain no individual advertiser data)
Account recordsUntil account deletion + 30-day grace period
OAuth tokensDeleted within 24 hours of revocation
Server logs90 days

7. Meta Platform Data

Data obtained through Meta's APIs is governed by Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies in addition to this privacy policy. We comply with all applicable Meta platform policies, including restrictions on data use, transfer, and storage.

Specifically regarding Meta data:

  • Used solely to operate Raindar's anomaly detection service as described in this policy.
  • Not used for advertising, re-targeting, profiling, or any secondary purpose.
  • Not sold, licensed, or transferred to any third party.
  • Deleted within 24 hours of OAuth revocation (raw metrics); aggregate cohort data containing no individual information may be retained.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, license, rent, or transfer your personal data or Meta Ads data to third parties for their own use.

We may share data with:

  • Service providers operating under data processing agreements (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, error monitoring) — only the minimum data required for their function, and solely on our behalf.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to the privacy commitments in this policy.

9. Your Rights and Controls

Disconnect Meta

You can revoke Raindar's access to your Meta Ads account at any time — either in Raindar's account settings or directly via Facebook's App Settings. Upon revocation:

  • We will stop polling your account immediately.
  • All raw metric rows linked to your account are deleted within 24 hours.
  • Your OAuth token is deleted within 24 hours.
  • Cohort aggregates (which contain no individually identifiable data) may be retained.

Data deletion request

To request deletion of all data associated with your Raindar account, email privacy@raindar.live with the subject "Data Deletion Request." We will confirm deletion within 30 days. You can also submit a request at raindar.live/data-deletion.

Access and portability

You may request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing privacy@raindar.live. We will respond within 30 days.

GDPR / UK GDPR rights

If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have additional rights under applicable data protection law, including the right to object to processing, the right to erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

10. Security

OAuth access tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. Raw metric data is stored in an encrypted, access-controlled database. Access is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. We follow industry-standard security practices; however, no system is completely immune from security risks.

11. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising trackers, cross-site tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling cookies. Any analytics we use are privacy-preserving (aggregate page counts only, no cross-site tracking).

12. Children

Raindar is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact privacy@raindar.live and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We will post material changes to this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
